Hogrefe joins OA Switchboard to strengthen Open Access partnerships in psychology publishing

September 16, 2025

Hogrefe is delighted to announce its partnership with OA Switchboard. This collaboration represents another step forward in Hogrefe’s mission to disseminate high-quality psychological and scientific knowledge worldwide.

The move will bring immediate benefits to the more than 100 German institutions participating in Hogrefe’s national Read-and-Publish agreement for PsyJournals, as well as to all British PsycArticles customers involved in the Read-and-Publish agreement between the American Psychological Association (APA) and Jisc, in which Hogrefe journals are an active part.

"Open Access is transforming academic publishing, and our role is to make the transition as smooth and transparent as possible for our authors, librarians, and partners,” said CEO Dr. G.-Jürgen Hogrefe. “By joining OA Switchboard, we are not only making processes more efficient but also reinforcing our commitment to sharing psychological research with the world.”

Through OA Switchboard, Hogrefe will be able to simplify and standardize reporting, enhance transparency, and ensure that authors and institutions can easily track and showcase their Open Access publishing activity—advancing both global collaboration and the visibility of psychological science.
